Blog Correction/Clarification

Yesterday, I made this statement:

"I can help my clients in ways (almost instantaneously) that no chiro, PT, or Orthopod can."

This was not meant to be a slap in the face to these professions. Each have their respective places. For example, I am not qualified to perform knee replacement surgery like an Orthopod or acute ACL rehab like a PT, which is a good thing, because I'd throw up if I had to perform a total knee on someone.

What I am saying is that many if not most ailments that people see the above professionals for, especially chronic ones like tennis elbow or even quad pulls, can be alleviated by teaching the client how to move his/her body to get out of pain and regain performance almost immediately with Z-Health drills. The body is a powerful machine and the nervous system is the thing that makes it all happen. If given the chance, the body will heal itself. Z gives the body that chance.

Hope that clarifies it.

Mike, I Agree.

Does Eric co into specific nerve mobility exercises and assessment?

Z sounds to incredible; my own personal experience with it has really helped my neck, but actually hurt my low back, hip and knee. Guess I was barking up the wrong tree or years ago when I took some seminars from Eric it wasn't as dialed in as it is now.

Everybody talks about the nervous system, but who actually treats the nerves or teaches people how to isolate and evaluate the actual nerves themselves. I'm talking about actual nerve tissue here.

Mike, are you familiar with David Butler and his Nerve Mobilization protocols? Is Eric teaching stuff like that?

Franz--I believe Eric teaches the actual nerve tissue work in T-Phase which is the upper level course after R- and I-Phases.

I don't think Z hurt you. I think you were just barking up the wrong tree, as you put it--which is very easy to do based on some of our current training/rehab philosophies.

Guys, I've started a giant thread on Somasimple.com forums on Z since I'm a little more leary of it's scientific foundations.

Mike has already joined me over there (watch out though, there pretty frisky and like to bite).

Geoff, I don't mean to offend you but I took some of your statements from your blogs recently regarding the efficacy of Z-health (didn't use your name though). They were bold and I totally repsect you for speaking you mind! I thought they would ruffle some of the PT's feathers over there and get them involved in the discussion. They actually almost kicked me off the forum becasue they thought I was some troll sent by Dr. Cobb to infiltrate and market the system.

However, if someone holds up a flag...My thought is that "Extraordinary Claims Require Extraordinary Evidence."
I just want to get more of the science behind the sytem...the explantions are a little too simplistic and new-agey for me. That's why I wanted to opinion of guys like Barret Dorko (PT).
